“For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.” Matthew 18:20

What is an SFC House Group?

SFC House Groups are small, casual gatherings of 6 to 12 people who meet bi-weekly in members' homes across our local community. Whether you have been part of the church for years or are simply curious about Christianity, these groups offer a warm, relaxed environment to build meaningful friendships, pray together, and encourage one another in everyday life.

What Do We Study?

Our discussions focus on practical, biblically grounded topics that help us grow in faith. We explore different books of the Bible together, often using trusted study guides, and occasionally read encouraging Christian books as a group. Past studies have included Dane Ortlund’s Gentle and Lowly, and we are currently working through the book of Ephesians using Sinclair Ferguson’s Let’s Study Ephesians. Every session is interactive, with plenty of room for discussion, questions, and honest conversation.

Do I Need to Be a Bible Expert to Join?

Not at all. You do not need to be a "deep theologian" or have extensive knowledge of the Bible to feel completely at home. Our groups are made up of people at all different stages of their faith journey, and we are all learning together. Whether you want to jump into the discussion or simply listen and take it all in, you are welcome just as you are.

What's the Right Group for Me?

We host several groups across the area to make joining as convenient as possible:

  • Stirling: Evening Group
  • Alloa: Evening Group
  • Bannockburn: Afternoon Group

If you are unsure which location or time fits your schedule best, simply get in touch with us through our contact page. We will connect you with a group leader who will gladly answer any questions and invite you to drop in for a visit—no long-term commitment required!

Planning your Visit

New to Church?

stirling

Well, welcome! If you are new to church, new to Stirling, or thinking about coming to Stirling Free Church for the first time, we are glad you are here.

We know that visiting a church for the first time can feel like a big step. You might not know what to expect, what to wear, where to go, or whether you will fit in. Please be assured that you do not need to have everything worked out before you come.

Stirling Free Church is a gospel-centred, Bible-believing church where people of different ages, backgrounds and nationalities meet together to worship and serve God.

When and Where We Meet

Our Sunday morning service is at:

Time: 10:30am
Venue: Cambusbarron Community Centre

No need to book or let us know in advance if you want to attend. Just come along. Someone will be there to welcome you and help you find your way in!

What Happens in a Service?

Our Sunday service is a time to worship God together, hear from the Bible, pray, and encourage one another.

A normal service will usually include singing, Bible readings, prayer and a sermon where a passage from the Bible is explained and applied to everyday life.

You will not be put on the spot or asked to do anything you are uncomfortable with. You are welcome simply to come, listen and take things at your own pace.

What Should I Wear?

There is no dress code. Some people dress smartly, others come more casually. Please come in whatever you feel comfortable wearing.

Do I Need to Know Anything Before I Come?

Don't worry, you do not need to know the songs, understand church traditions, or have been to a service before.

If anything is unfamiliar, that is completely fine. We are glad to welcome people who are exploring Christianity, returning to church, or simply curious about faith.

Our services usually last no longer than 1 hour with refreshments afterwards.

Children and Young People

Children and young people are very welcome at Stirling Free Church.

During term time, Crèche, Sunday School and Bible Class are available for those who would like to attend. If you are visiting with children, someone will be happy to explain what is available and where to go.

Students, Visitors and Newcomers

Stirling is home to people from many places, including students and international visitors. We are glad to welcome people from different nations, backgrounds and stages of life.

Whether you are in Stirling for a short time or looking for a church family, we would love to meet you.

After the Service

After the service, there is usually tea/coffee and time to chat and get to know people. Please do stay if you can.

We know it can feel daunting to walk into a new place, so our hope is that you will find a warm welcome and a friendly church family.

Come and Join Us

Whether you are already a Christian, exploring faith, or just wondering what church is like, you are welcome at Stirling Free Church.

Come and join us-you will be made welcome!
