A Home away from Home

Moving to university or college is an exciting new chapter, and finding a supportive church family can make all the difference. Whether you are looking to deepen your relationship with God, exploring Christianity for the very first time, or simply searching for a warm group of friends to hang out with, you are warmly invited to join us at Stirling Free Church.

Midweek House Groups & Community

In addition to our Sunday services, we encourage students to get involved in our local House Groups. Meeting weekly in comfortable local homes, these small groups are the heart of our community life. They offer a relaxed space to share meals, study the Bible, pray together, and build genuine, long-lasting friendships away from the stress of studies.

Socials, Pub Quizzes & Testimony Nights

We know student life is about more than just studying, so we host regular events throughout the term designed to help you unwind and connect:

  • Pub Quiz Nights: Fun, competitive evenings to test your trivia skills with friends.
  • Testimonial Evenings: Inspiring nights where members of the church share their personal stories of faith and how God has worked in their lives.
  • Informal Hangouts: Post-service lunches, coffee runs, and casual socials throughout the academic year.

Join Us This Sunday!

The best way to get to know us is simply to show up on a Sunday morning. Come along to a service, introduce yourself to anyone at the door, and we will make sure you get a warm welcome and help you settle in quickly.

Planning your Visit

New to Church?

stirling

Well, welcome! If you are new to church, new to Stirling, or thinking about coming to Stirling Free Church for the first time, we are glad you are here.

We know that visiting a church for the first time can feel like a big step. You might not know what to expect, what to wear, where to go, or whether you will fit in. Please be assured that you do not need to have everything worked out before you come.

Stirling Free Church is a gospel-centred, Bible-believing church where people of different ages, backgrounds and nationalities meet together to worship and serve God.

When and Where We Meet

Our Sunday morning service is at:

Time: 10:30am
Venue: Cambusbarron Community Centre

No need to book or let us know in advance if you want to attend. Just come along. Someone will be there to welcome you and help you find your way in!

What Happens in a Service?

Our Sunday service is a time to worship God together, hear from the Bible, pray, and encourage one another.

A normal service will usually include singing, Bible readings, prayer and a sermon where a passage from the Bible is explained and applied to everyday life.

You will not be put on the spot or asked to do anything you are uncomfortable with. You are welcome simply to come, listen and take things at your own pace.

What Should I Wear?

There is no dress code. Some people dress smartly, others come more casually. Please come in whatever you feel comfortable wearing.

Do I Need to Know Anything Before I Come?

Don't worry, you do not need to know the songs, understand church traditions, or have been to a service before.

If anything is unfamiliar, that is completely fine. We are glad to welcome people who are exploring Christianity, returning to church, or simply curious about faith.

Our services usually last no longer than 1 hour with refreshments afterwards.

Children and Young People

Children and young people are very welcome at Stirling Free Church.

During term time, Crèche, Sunday School and Bible Class are available for those who would like to attend. If you are visiting with children, someone will be happy to explain what is available and where to go.

Students, Visitors and Newcomers

Stirling is home to people from many places, including students and international visitors. We are glad to welcome people from different nations, backgrounds and stages of life.

Whether you are in Stirling for a short time or looking for a church family, we would love to meet you.

After the Service

After the service, there is usually tea/coffee and time to chat and get to know people. Please do stay if you can.

We know it can feel daunting to walk into a new place, so our hope is that you will find a warm welcome and a friendly church family.

Come and Join Us

Whether you are already a Christian, exploring faith, or just wondering what church is like, you are welcome at Stirling Free Church.
