Ordination of new deacon
On Sunday the 23rd of June, Allan Macleod was ordained as deacon in our congregation. We are so excited to have him as part of our leadership team and the skills and wisdom he brings. We are also thankful for Mairi, his daughter who has been coming along to church with him and was with him on Sunday to support him as he was ordained.
Please continue to pray for Allan, Mairi and the family as Allan takes on this new role, but also for the rest of our leadership team : Iain, James, Kenneth, Clive and Paul.
Pray for wisdom and Gods guidance, for unity and fellowship as they continue to lead the church in the direction God wants us to go.

International Justice Mission UK
On Sunday the 23rd of June at The Well, we had Andrew Bevan  from International Justice Mission UK come and preach to us on Amos and tell us more about the work of IJM.
It was an eye opening, challenging talk on slavery today in the 21st Century. He preached from Amos 5 v19-25 :
" I hate and despise your religious festivals; your assemblies are a stench to me. Even though you bring me burnt offerings and grain offerings, I will not accept them. Though you bring choice fellowship offerings, I will have no regard for them. Away with the noise of your songs! I will not listen to the music of your harps. But let justice roll on like a river, righteousness like a never-failing stream!"
He challenged us - What are we as a church doing about social injustices in our own towns, country and world? What are we choosing to ignore? does our worship refelct Gods justice?

Pray for your MSP

9568itokj5ecEloz

This June marks the 20th anniversary of the Scottish Parliament. In order to mark this special occasion, Evangelical Alliance are holding a Pray for Your MSPs Day on 23rd June, where we are asking churches all across Scotland to be praying for their MSPs. T
his is part of a wider initiative to encourage Christians to be engaging in a positive way with their representatives.
Evangelical Alliance have created a short resource entitled “Connect – A guide to engaging with your MSPs” which will be available for download on the E.A. website soon.

From the Evangelical Alliance Website:

We at the Evangelical Alliance long to see Christians engaging with their MSPs in a productive and loving way, especially through prayer. 1 Timothy 2:1 – 4 states:

I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Saviour, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.”

We want Christians to be known as good new people in every sphere. We believe that the greatest way to show representatives the love of Christ is by praying for them and with them.

For this reason, we are inviting you to pray for your MSP on Sunday, 23 June. We would love to see churches from across Scotland standing in prayer together for our MSPs as we mark this special anniversary of representation in Scotland.

Below are 2 link which will take you to videos produced by the E.A on the subject of praying for your MSP.

Baptism of Matthew
matthew baptismmatthew baptism 2
Matthew, aged 11, came to faith recently and wanted a baptism of full immersion. Cornton Baptist church kindly gave us the use of their baptismal pool and on Satrurday night a group of us met to support Matthew on his journey of faith. Iain preached from Acts 8 on Philip and the Eunuch. It was a lovely evening giving praise to God and celebrating Matthew.
